Dorsey David Musselman, 78 of Bedford, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015 at home.
Dorsey was born Tuesday, March 9, 1937, in Klahr, Blair County. He was the son of the late Elmer and Ethel (Bowser) Musselman.
On November 27, 1953, he married the former Ethel Gardner-Musselman. He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years and the following: a sister, Norma Jean Haney of Williamsburg; a brother, Robert Dean Musselman of Claysburg; stepsons, Ivan Myrl Musselman, Sr. and Galen Musselman of Bedford and stepdaughters, Rosanna Paul of Schellsburg, D. Jean Musselman of Bedford and Darlene Tilson of Texas. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dorsey was preceded in death by his son, David Dean Musselman and his sisters, Mary Frances Musselman and F. Maud Hengst.
Dorsey and Ethel owned Lola's Restaurant in Bedford during the 1950's. Dorsey also worked as a farm hand at Faukland Farms and as a dishwasher at the Midway Service Plaza in Bedford. Dorsey worked may years as an owner-operator truck driver for various trucking companies.
Dorsey and Ethel owned and worked their family farm in Bedford. He was an avid horseman, owning many draft horses over the years. Dorsey and Ethel were founding members of the Bedford County Draft Animal Association and enjoyed showing their animals at the Great Bedford County Fair. He and his wife were also involved with starting the Central PA Trucking Association & actively supported it's mission for many years. Dorsey was a member of the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren in Claysburg. He was a lifetime member of the Southern Cove Power Reunion.
A funeral service will be held at the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren, Claysburg. at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 15th, 2015 with Abner Kauffman officiating.
Interment will be held at the church cemetery.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford and on Friday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the church in Claysburg..
