William "Bill" J. Wendell

William J. "Bill" Wendell, 67, of New Zealand Road, Snake Spring Twp., passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Select Specialty Hospital, in Cambria County, PA, with his wife, son and sisters by his side.

Bill was born on May 22, 1955, in Bedford County, son of the late Nicholas J. and Catherine (Airhart) Wendell.

On June 15, 1979, Bill married Anita J. (Otto) Wendell.

Along with his wife- Anita he is survived by son- Nick J. Wendell, Bedford; sister- Joan D. Glodek, sister- Theresa Howsare and brother- Marty husband of Gerry Wendell and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and father and mother-in-law- Harry and Anna Otto.

He retired from the PA Turnpike.

William was of the Catholic faith and grew up attending St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Everett.

Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He also had a passion for woodworking. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, antiquing with his wife- Anita, cookouts and traveling. He also enjoyed watching baseball as well as spending time at the baseball field.

Bill was an amazing and kind husband, father, brother and friend who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
