William O. Mowry

Mr. William O. Mowry, 78, of Allegheny Road, Manns Choice, passed away Friday, February 16th, 2018 to enter his heavenly home with the Lord.

Mr. Mowry was born in Juniata Township on January 12, 1940,  he was the son of the late W. Martin and Dorothy (Miller) Mowry.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janet (Hillegass) Mowry. In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Detra wife of Ken Webb, Manns Choice; Granddaughter-  Olivia wife of Luke Mock; Grandson- Brody Webb and fiancee Rhoda Weaver; Granddaughter-  Savanna Webb; Brother- Richard wife of Dorothy (Smith) Mowry; Sister- Joy (Mowry) wife of Maurice Fisher; Brother- Thomas husband of Shirley (Pensyl) Mowry; and family friend - Richard.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kevin L. Mowry.

Bill attended Faith Brethren Bible Church.  He worked at Kennametal for 43 years.   Along with his wife, he was well known as the co-owner of Mowry's Produce along Route 31.  Bill raised sweet corn and strawberries for many years and sold Christmas trees.  He enjoyed walking through the woods and fields with his faithful German Shepherd, Kawligah and his blind cat, Bimbo.  Bill spent time gardening, reading his Bible, watching Fox News and Christian programs and visiting with family and friends.  He will be dearly missed by family and friends

A Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 20th, 2018 with Pastor Ken Korns officiating.

Interment will be held at Dry Ridge Cemetery, Manns Choice.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Geisel Funeral Home in Schellsburg.
