William C. "Willie" Hengst

William C. Hengst “Bill” “Willie”, 77, of Crissman Road, New Paris died, Friday, April 7, 2023, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.

Bill was born on May 26, 1945, in St. Clairsville, son of the late Fred W. and Thelda I. (Miller) Hengst.

On March 29, 1968, Bill married Linda A.  (Kiel) Hengst. She preceded him in death on January 6, 1999.

He is survived by son- Troy, husband of Kim (Bisbing) Kiel, Hyndman; daughter- Kelly, wife of Barry Blake, Nicktown; son- J.R. husband of Traci (Swisher) Hengst, Greencastle; grandchildren- Laken, Sabrina, Kyle, Faith, Kaylee and Grace, great-grandchildren- Colton, Carson, Blaize and Evelyn, special family- Trinette and John Henderson. Along with his parents and wife- Linda, Bill is preceded in death by his sister- Janet Critchfield.

Bill proudly served his country in the Army during Vietnam.  He was a member of the Fort Bedford Honor Guard, life member of Bedford American Legion Post #113 and was past commander, Bedford VFW, and a life member of Vietnam Veteran Association. Bill was a member of Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church.

He retired from Sunco.

Willie was proud to be part of the Honor Guard and enjoyed spending time with his comrades.

He was an amazing, hardworking and dedicated person and he greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all.

Friends may call on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 4-8PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg with Pastor Daniel Oldham officiating.

Interment at Fishertown Cemetery.

Military Rite accorded by Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
