V. Ronald Baker

Mr. V. Ronald  Baker, 76, of Bedford, died Thursday, January 5th, 2017 at Pennknoll Village.

Mr. Baker was born in Bedford on January 9, 1940,  the son of the late Virgil R. and Delilah (Ritchey) Baker.

He is survived by  Sister- Mildred King, Bedford; Brother-in-Law- James Hazelette, Bedford and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by two sisters, Freda Hazelette & Ruth Whetstone.

Ron was of the Lutheran Faith. He was a 1958 graduate of Bedford High School and went on to serve in the US Air Force from 1959 until his honorable discharge in 1963.  He was employed as a production worker for 36 years with L.B. Foster.  Ron was a member of the Fort Bedford VFW Post #7527 and the Bedford American Legion Post #113.  He loved attending Bedford High School sporting events and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Ron was a great brother, uncle and friend and he will be missed.

A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 7th, 2017 with Pastor Beth Pyles officiating.

Interment will be held at Ritchey Cemetery, Snake Spring Twp.

Friends are invited to call on Saturday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the Geisel Funeral Home in Bedford. Military rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ron to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place,  Memphis, TN 38105.
