Virgie "Pat" (Bumgardner) Turner

Virgie "Pat" Turner, 94, of Bedford, died on Monday, December 10th, 2012 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.

Pat Turner was born in Clarksburg, WV, the youngest daughter of the late Adam G. and Sadie (Haines) Bumgardner. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Bumgardner and Victor Bumgardner and by a sister, Bernice Miller.

Pat and her beloved husband, Robert B. Turner, celebrated their 50th anniversary in Sept 2004.  He preceded her in death on February 22, 2008.

They enjoyed numerous activities together including hosting guests at their cottage at Indian Lake, traveling around the country with the Coachman RV club, and spending winters at the Raintree RV Resort in Florida.

Pat was a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a registered nurse and was the Director of Nurses at Bedford Hospital until her retirement in 1983.

Pat was dearly loved and will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service celebrating the lives of both Pat and Bob will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, Dec 16 2012 at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeff Welsh officiating.

The Order of the Eastern Star, Bedford Springs Chapter #41 and the Bedford Masonic Lodge #320 F&AM will hold ceremonies for Pat and Bob respectively, prior the the memorial service on Sunday.

Friends are invited to called on Sunday from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at the Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bedford United Methodist Church, 132 E. John Street, Bedford, PA 15522..
