Veryl J. Mock

Mr. Veryl J. Mock, 88, of Spruce Road, Bedford, formerly of Ryot, died Sunday, January 11th, 2015 at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.

Mr. Mock was born in Alum Bank on Monday, March 15, 1926,  the son of the late Robert and Ruie (Darr) Mock.

On November 22, 1950, he married Roberta "Bobbie" (Richards) Mock.  She preceded him in death on January 29, 2004.

He is survived by  Son- John R. husband of  Debra (Weyand) Mock, Bedford; Son- Veryl Jay Mock, Jr. widower of  Karen (Callihan) Mock, Bedford. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Jeremy, Michelle, Brandon,  Amanda & Leslie, and eight great grandchildren, Samuel, Asher, Tyrel, Travis, Trey, Todd, Shaunna & Tenley.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Gwendolyn Mitchell and two brothers, Donald and Marlin Mock.

Veryl was a member of the Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren and served in the US Navy during W.W.II.  He was employed as a truck driver for 45 years, driving for H.G. Studebaker, W.C. McQuade and Eastern Express trucking lines.

A Funeral Service will be held at Geisel Funeral Home, Pleasantville at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 14th,  2015 with Rev. Robert Thacker officiating.

Interment will be held at Mock Cemetery, Alum Bank.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Pleasantville.
