Mr. Veryl J. Callihan, 64, of Buena Road, Schellsburg, died Thursday, August 6th, 2015 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.

Mr. Callihan was born in New Paris on Monday, February 12, 1951,  the son of Lucille (Oldham) Callihan of Schellsburg and the late Harry A. Callihan.

On June 12, 1971, he married Susan K. (Egolf) Callihan.  She preceded him in death on February 17, 2015.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by  Son- Timothy A. husband of  Elaine (Berkheimer) Callihan, Alum Bank; Daughter- Jody L. wife of  Jason Mickle, Osterburg; Grandchildren- Jolynn & Bryce; Brother- Robert H. husband of JoAnn (Onstead) Callihan, New Paris; Sister- Diane E. Callihan, New Paris; Brother- Richard G. husband of Elaine (Nave) Callihan, Schellsburg; Brother- Jay R. husband of Chris (Young) Callihan, Schellsburg and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by infant twin sons, Jacob Howard Callihan & Joseph Harry Callihan.

Veryl was a member of the Christ Victory Church in New Buena Vista and a1969 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School.  He retired as the Schellsburg Post Master and was a former rural carrier for the New Paris Post Office.  Veryl was an avid hunter & sportsman and was a member of the NRA, the Chestnut Ridge Bow & Gun Club, the North America Hunting Club and the New Baltimore Sportsman Club.  Veryl loved the outdoors and was happiest when he was spending time with his beloved grandchildren.  He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and he will be greatly missed .

A Funeral Service will be held at Christ Victory Church, Buena Road, Manns Choice at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 10th, 2015 with Pastor Daniel Oldham officiating.

Interment will be held at Schellsburg Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the church.
