Velma A. (Hengst) Daugherty

Velma A. Daugherty, 91, of Adams Run Road, New Paris, died at 4:28 AM, Sunday, June 8th, 2014 at Nancy's Personal Care Home in Osterburg.

Mrs. Daugherty was born in St. Clairsville on Tuesday, September 26, 1922, the daughter of the late Harry R. and Lillian Ruth (Oster) Hengst.

On May 5, 1951, she married Edwin E. Daugherty.  He preceded her in death on January 6, 2008.

She is survived by: Son- Gary L. husband of  Lisa (Lasher) Daugherty, Albion; Son- James E. husband of  Lynn (Davidson) Daugherty, Castro Valley, CA.  is also survived by three grandchildren, Brendan Daugherty, Stephanie, wife of Samuel Herscu & Rebekah Daugherty. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Frederick Hengst and a sister, Viola Wagoner.

Velma was a member of the Fishertown Community Bible Church where she was a part of the Ladies of the Church Circle and taught Sunday School.  She was formerly employed as a grocery clerk at Moorhead & Wertz in Bedford.

A Funeral Service will be held at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc, Pleasantville at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 11th, 2014 with Pastor Ned Donaldson officiating.

Interment will be held at Fishertown Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at the funeral home in Pleasantville.
