Trudy K. Barefoot

Trudy K. Barefoot, loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother went to her heavenly home Thursday, November 25, 2021. Her life's journey began September 20, 1960. She was the daughter of Roland Weyant and Ruthe McCreary. She married Rick Barefoot on January 17, 1980. They had two sons, Luke, husband of Jackie (Criste) Barefoot and Drew Barefoot and fiancee Jess Fuller. Six grandchildren- Anna, Lucas, Collette, Nolan, Jaxton and Evalyn.

Trudy timelessly worked to grow the family trucking business, H. Fred Barefoot Trucking, Inc. Trudy in partnership with her husband for 41 years branched into other endeavors. She had an entrepreneurial spirit and drive as well managing Fay's Candies and operating The Green Harvest restaurant.

Over the years Trudy was recognized with several achievement awards, highlighted in 2002 as one of the "Best 50 Business Woman in Pennsylvania ".
Being civically minded Trudy served on numerous boards, CRHS school board, BCDA, Junior Achievement, FBLA, Bedford County Chamber of Commerce, and the Community Foundation for The Alleghenies just to name a few.

Trudy loved traveling with friends. Trips to OBX, Key West, Dominican Republic and Jamaica were treasured by her but she just loved being with the kids. Time at the cottage was best for her.

Trudy spent a lifetime making the world a better place. She would always extend a helpful hand. Trudy's passing is heartbreaking but her spirit lives on, in her children, grandchildren and anyone that knew her. She was one of the good ones and will be missed.

Friends will be received for a visitation on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from Noon-3:00PM at the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church, New Paris with a Funeral Service at 3:00PM with Pastor Dan Oldham officiating.

Interment at Fishertown Cemetery.

A meal will be held after the committal at Chestnut Ridge Independent Church, 1486 Quaker Valley Road, New Paris, PA 15554.
