Thomas Bryan Yarnell, 65, of Lovely, died on Thursday, December 8, 2022, in Bedford County.
Born on July 31, 1957, the only child of the late Thomas J. and Imogene (Dibert) Yarnell.
Tom is survived by the Yarnell clan of Lovely and the Diberts of Pavia.
In his younger days he attended Chestnut Ridge High School and excelled in sports. He earned numerous individual football awards as well as held District titles in wrestling, Tom also lettered 4 years in wrestling and was captain as a senior. He graduated Shippensburg State College with a B.A. in Speech Communications.
After college he had numerous jobs, a substitute teacher, junior high wrestling coach, apple picker, farmer, dockworker until he went south and got involved with STAR and started pouring concrete foundations. Tom traveled for his work, and he met numerous families and people that became great friends.
After 25 years of that hectic lifestyle Tom moved back home to Lovely. He was a caretaker for his father and of the farm. He could usually be seen mowing, cutting firewood, and working on the upkeep of the property. He expanded to groundskeeping at the Mt. Union Church and the adjoining cemetery.
Tom was an avid collector. During his life he collected coins, comic books, antiques, paper books, baseball cards, etc. After coming back home he started collecting Dan Bradley Brand- walk behind tractors.
Tom enjoyed laughing with his friends, going to auctions and flea markets, watching movies and a good book.
He brought much laughter and happiness to many and will be greatly missed by all.
Interment at Mt. Union Cemetery.
