Thomas A. Stiffler, 68, of New Baltimore, Pennsylvania, went to be with Lord on Friday, February 2, 2024, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Tommy was born in Bedford on January 16, 1956, son of the late H. Thomas and Mary Grace (Hankinson) Stiffler.
A loving husband to his wife of 43 years, Linda (Maddy), he is also survived by son, Craig, husband of Amanda (Weighley), of Berlin; his beloved grandchildren: Knox and Tatum; and sister Mary Ann, wife of Angelo DiCamillo, of Voorhees, N.J.
He is preceded in death by sister, Barbara Jean Kudasik; father-in-law, Alex Maddy; and brothers-in-law, George Maddy and Scott Straight.
Tommy will be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law, Jim Maddy (Stephanie), and sisters-in-law: Deb (Harry Ritchey), Susan (Kevin Housel), Cindy (Denny Deitz), Barb Straight (Wayne Styer), and Tina (Jamie Ostravich) and his many nieces and nephews.
A 1973 graduate of Berlin-Brothersvalley High School, Tommy was a life-long member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Baltimore and longtime member of the New Baltimore Sportsman’s Club. He was employed at Crane Plumbing for 27 years and Walmart Distribution Center for 10 years until he retired.
Tommy was the ultimate sports enthusiast. He played multiple sports in high school and went on to play fast-pitch softball for many years afterwards. He loved attending local sporting events (especially those of his grandchildren.) A fan of all the Pittsburgh Pro teams and Penn State Football, Tommy was a treasure trove of sports information. His buddies will miss him at their monthly poker games, brunch and spending time at the Sportsman's Club. He had an abundance of friends who loved him and will miss him and his sense of humor.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 9, 2024, from 10-11 a.m. at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore.
A funeral Mass will follow on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church with Celebrant- Father Mark Pattock officiating.
A committal service will be at St. Johns Cemetery, New Baltimore.
