Ruth H. (Hinson) Smith

Mrs. Ruth  H. Smith, 94, of Bedford, formerly of New Paris, died at 2:05 PM, Wednesday, October 12th, 2011 at Donahoe Manor.

Mrs. Smith was born in Napier Twp. on Tuesday, February 13, 1917,  the daughter of the late Avery and Henrietta (Bence) Hinson.

On September 18, 1941, she married Charles E. "Jim" Smith.  He preceded her in death on September 28, 1985.

She is survived by  Daughter- Kay wife of  Stanley Robinette, Cumberland, MD; Son- Bill husband of  Doris (Paul) Smith, Sun City Center, FL; Daughter- Henrietta Smith, Somerset; Daughter- Gayle wife of  Frederick Bellock, Jacksonville, FL; Daughter- Nancy Grebill, Reinholds; Son- David husband of  Maria Smith, Phoenix, AR; Brother- Merle Hinson, Clearville; Sister- Mary Nave, Bedford. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren,  7 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lori Smith and four brothers, Floyd, Clair, Arol and John Hinson.

Ruth was affiliated with the Somerset United Church of Christ and was a homemaker.  She enjoyed bowling, traveling and crocheting.

A Funeral Service will be held  at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 17th, 2011 with Rev. Ruth Shaver officiating.

Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.
