Ruth S. (Sollenberger) Koontz

Ruth  S. Koontz,91, of Circle K Drive, Bedford, died Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Homewood at Martinsburg, Blair County.

Mrs. Koontz was born in W. Providence Twp. on November 17, 1928,  daughter of the late Harvey and Lena (Woy) Sollenberger.

She is survived by  Son- Gregg F. husband of  Lorri (Decker) Koontz, Bedford; Son- Malcolm J. husband of Tracy (Reum) Koontz, Everett; Son- Kevin H. Koontz, Bedford; Grandchildren Josiah, Kelsey, David, Nicole and Joseph. Along with her Husband and Parents Ruth was preceded in death by Brother Richard Sollenberger and Sister Katherine Margargel.

On May 5, 1957 Ruth married Fred J. Koontz. He preceded her in death on December 9, 2010.

Ruth worked as a Teller at First National Bank and was also a Homemaker.

She enjoyed baking cakes, reading her Bible and playing the organ. Ruth was a supervisor at the Bedford Fair for the Home and Dairy Exhibit.

A Private Service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.

Interment at Everett Cemetery.
