Mr. Roy "Buzzy" Bussard, Jr., 83, of W. Sixth Ave., Everett, died at 4:27 PM, Sunday, March 25th, 2012 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home.
Mr. Bussard was born in Everett on Thursday, September 13, 1928, the son of the late Roy and Blanche (Gordon) Bussard.
On October 5, 1946, he married Doris E. (Harclerode) Bussard. In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Lois E. wife of Dennis C. Householder, Everett; Daughter- Lisa wife of Scott Sleighter, Everett; Brother- Jack Bussard, and wife Janet (Oster), Everett. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Whitney and Lauren. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Donald and Reginald
Buzzy was a member of the First Christian Church in Everett. He retired after 25 years of service as a mail carrier. He was also employed at the Everett Tire Shop for 19 years. Buzzy was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Everett F&AM Lodge #524. He enjoyed all sports from the high school level to professional. Buzzy was a part of the opening of South Penn Speedway in Everett. He kept records of points and was very involved in racing. He loved racing; from dirt track to NASCAR and he was a big Dale Earnhardt fan. Buzzy loved to read and was an avid bowler, bowling in two leagues every week for over 40 years, at one time earning a score of 298.
A funeral service will be held at First Christian Church, Everett at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 29th, 2012 with Rev. Robert Robertson officiating.
Interment will be held at Everett Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Raystown Road, Everett and on Thursday, at the church from 10:30 - 11:00 AM. Masonic Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:30 PM.
