Mr. Ronald B. Saxe, 89, of Peter Street, Schellsburg, died Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Saxe was born in St. Louis, MO on Monday, September 20, 1926, the son of the late Walter and Hazel (Blackstone) Saxe.
On December 13, 1952, he married Jean H. (Sikkila) Saxe. In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Deborah J. wife of Pastor Gary Blankley, Claysburg; Daughter- Diane E. wife of Gerald Grove, Harrisburg; Son- Ronald B. husband of Heidi A. (Stephens) Saxe, Camp Hill. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Raymond W. Saxe and by a brother, Walter Saxe.
Ron was a member of the Weyant United Methodist Church. He served in the US Navy during W.W.II. He was a 1949 graduate of Penn State University with Bachelor of Arts Degree. Ron was previously employed as a construction engineer for Buchart-Horn Construction and worked as an operator at the Sewage Treatment Center. He was also a City Maintenance Engineer. Ron retired in 1987 from HMS Host Maintenance on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather & friend and he will be greatly missed
A memorial service will be held at Weyant United Methodist Church, Imler at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 13th, 2016 with Pastor Gary Blankley officiating.
