Mr. Ronald F. Harbaugh, 64, of Sycamore Road, Fishertown died Saturday, April 5th, 2014 at his home
Mr. Harbaugh was born in Fishertown on Monday, January 2, 1950, he was the son of Domer Harbaugh of Fishertown and the late Phyllis (Ewig) Harbaugh.
On March 25, 1972, he married Eileen J. (Defibaugh) Harbaugh. In addition to his wife and father he is survived by Son- Matthew S. Harbaugh and former wife Jessica Beutman Harbaugh, Carlisle; Son- Bradley R. husband of Sarah (Bowser) Harbaugh, Fishertown; five grandchildren, Kennedy, Nathan, Abigail, Presley and Andrew; Brother- Don Harbaugh, Pensacola, FL; Brother- Robert husband of Susan (Gilmer) Harbaugh, Bedford; Brother- Terry Harbaugh, Fishertown; Sister- Belva (Harbaugh) wife of John Comp, Fishertown; Sister- Cindy Harbaugh, Fishertown; Mother-in-Law- Doris Defibaugh wife of Ernie Berkey, Alum Bank; Sister-in-Law- Debra (Defibaugh) wife of Timothy Wise, York; Sister-in-Law- Cheryl (Defibaugh) wife of Rodney Berkey, New Paris. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Eleanor.
Ronald attended the Faith Brethren Bible Church in New Paris. He was a 1967 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School and graduated from the Electronics Institute of Pittsburgh. Immediately following his graduation, he served four years in the US Navy with two tours of duty in Vietnam. Ronald worked for 10 years at US Steel in Johnstown. He was then employed at UPS in Richland until his retirement in 2004. He was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Lions Club.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Community Nursing and Home Nursing Agency Hospice and to all his dedicated caregivers, especially Tonia Shaffer, Stacy Shaffer and Ernie Berkey for all the care and compassion they shoed Ronald.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Pleasantville with Pastor James Espenshade officiating.
Interment will be held at Pleasantville Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Pleasantville.
