Mr. Roger L. Sciranko, 68, of Spring Hope Road, Schellsburg, died at 9:49 PM, Tuesday, December 30th, 2014 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.

Mr. Sciranko was born in Bedford on September 19, 1946,  the son of the late Michael T. Sciranko, Sr. and Geraldine "June" (Hite) Sciranko.

He is survived by  Daughter- Tina S. and husband Mark Pollard, Greenville, NC; Son- Robert Sciranko, Bedford; Daughter- Christine and wife Jamie Boyer, Jessup, MD; Sister- Cass widow of Tub Milburn, Bedford. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Chanler, Brittany, Harper, Luke & Levi and by a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws & dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Lynn (Glass) Sciranko and two brothers, Russ Wertz & Tom Sciranko.

Roger was employed as a service contractor.  He served in the United States Marine Corp in the Vietnam War, earning the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon & the RVN Cross of Gallantry.

Roger was a member of the Moose Lodge #480, the Bedford American Legion Post #113 & the NRA.  He was a life member of the Plesantville VFW Post #9219.  Roger was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.  In the past, he was a recreational mechanic and enjoyed working on cars.  Roger was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend and he will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 3rd, 2015 with Pastor Daniel Oldham officiating.

Entombment will be held at the mausoleum at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
Friends are invited to call on Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM and on Saturday from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at the funeral home in Bedford.
