Robert E. Shippy

Robert E. Shippy, 84, of Bedford, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Bedford Post Acute, Bedford.

Robert was born in New Buena Vista on June 13, 1940, son of the late Harold E. and Helen I. (Hillegass) Shippy.

On October 3, 1987, he married his wife Gloria Jean (Cramer), who preceded him in death on December 9, 2004.

He is survived by sister- Norma Eshelman, of Irwin; brother- Warren "Butch" Shippy, of Buffalo Mills; brother- Randy husband of Debbie (Reed) Shippy, of Manns Choice; four children: Michael, Robert, Bobbi Jo, and Mary Grace; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was affiliated with the Trinity United Church of Christ, Dry Ridge. He worked for PennDOT maintenance at the Bedford County Workshop. Robert was an avid Pittsburgh Pirate and Steeler fan, and enjoyed watching Penn State; he enjoyed fishing, painting crafts and playing bingo.

A viewing will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 10-11 AM at Geisel-Styer Funeral Homes, Schellsburg.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 11 AM at Geisel-Styer Funeral Homes, Schellsburg.

Interment will be at Dry Ridge Cemetery, Manns Choice, PA.
