Robert P. Moore III

Robert P. "RP"  Moore III, 80, of Bedford, Pennsylvania passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at UPMC Bedford.

Robert was born in Greentree, PA. on June 8, 1942, son of the late to Robert P. Moore II and Grace W. (Walker) Moore.

On May 1, 1988, he married his wife Lou Ann (Earnest) Moore.

He is survived by daughter- Michelle (Joe) Kovel, of Bedford; son- Robert (Rhonda) Moore, of Jacksonville, FL; son- Travis (Connie) Fleegle, of New Paris; son- Todd (Allison) Fleegle, of Bedford; daughter- Kristy (Curtis) Harr, of Osterburg; and seven grandchildren- Mitchell and Ashley Kovel, Robert and Jonathan Moore, Jordan (Tyler) and Madison Fleegle and great-granddaughter- Paisley, along with sisters- Louanne Wheeler, of MD.; and Christine Moore, of TN.; and beloved dog Daisy.

Robert was affiliated with Crossroads Bible Church.

He graduated from Carson Long Institute.

Robert served his country in the United States Army for 3 years. On March 28, 1968, he joined the Pennsylvania State Police and worked at the Everett Station for 25 years and then moved to aviation for the next 6 years before retiring.

He enjoyed running with Bedford EMS, scuba diving, photography, baseball/softball, building and crashing model airplanes, riding/racing motorcycles, wood working (especially making pens), carpentry, flying, reloading and was extremely patriotic. Robert loved his country and was proud to have served in the United States Army and the Pennsylvania State Police.

A visitation will be held Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 2-4 PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023, at 11 AM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Dillow officiating.

Interment will be at Bedford County Memorial Park, Bedford.

Military rites accorded to the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Bedford County Humane Society: 182 Bohn Rd. Bedford, PA. 15522.
