Robert E. Mitchell

Robert E. Mitchell, 88, of Alum Bank, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.

Bob was born in Fishertown on May 18, 1936, son of the late Jackson and Marian (Way) Mitchell and step-father Harold Mullin.

He was united in marriage to Ellen (Leppert) Mitchell on September 5, 1955, they had just celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary.

He is survived by son- Chris husband of Tammy Mitchell, of Alum Bank; daughter- Tonia wife of Randy Shaffer, of Schellsburg; son- David husband of Deborah Mitchell, of Irons, MI; daughter- Jackie wife of Rick Kauffman, of Schellsburg; daughter- Deb wife of Alan Cronemiller, of Manns Choice; daughter- Robin wife of David Genter, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; son- Monte husband of Jane Mitchell, of Taylors, SC; along with 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by infant son- Gary Mitchell, daughter-in-law-Nancy Mitchell, grandson-in-law- Todd Lang, and siblings: Donald Mitchell, Loretta Hickman, and infant brother Paul Mitchell.

Robert was a faithful member of Faith Brethren Bible Church. As a teenager in the 1950's he was a bellhop at the Bedford Springs, some of his fondest memories were from when he was the "bunny bread man" making deliveries for Harris Boyer, starting in the early 1960's. In 1966 he started at Hedstrom Corporation, and retired in 1999 after 32 years of employment the last 25 years as the plant manager.

Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, who will be greatly missed.

A viewing will be held Monday, September 23, 2024 from 4-8 PM and on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 12:30- 1:30 PM at Faith Brethren Bible Church, New Paris.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 1:30 PM at Faith Brethren Bible Church with Pastor Jim Espenshade officiating.

Interment will be at Fishertown Cemetery, Fishertown, PA.

Praise the Lord! He is no longer living in "the land of Biden"!
