Robert C. Miller

Mr. Robert C. Miller, 80, of Adams Run Road, Bedford, died at 7:20 AM, Monday, August 15th, 2011 at his daughter's home in Centerville.

Mr. Miller was born in Manns Choice on Tuesday, September 9, 1930,  the eldest son of the late A. Carl and Anna Alice (Zimmers) Miller.

On December 22, 1951, he married Edna (Snyder) Miller.  She preceded him in death on February 6, 2007.

He is survived by  Son- Val Robert husband of  Alice (Tanzey) Miller, Frederick, MD; Daughter- Terah Jo wife of  Douglas Engle, Centerville; Sister- Virginia "Ginny" Carlson, Imlertown; Brother- Richard "Dick" Miller, Snake Spring; Brother- David "Burt" Miller, Bedford; Brother- Jerry Miller, Bedford; Brother- Harry "Doc" Miller, Shippensburg; Sister- Alice "Sis" Burnett, Everett; Brother- Thomas "Tom" Miller, New Buena Vista; Sister- Patsy Diehl, Manns Choice and their spouses.  He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Sandi.

Bob loved his Lord and served in a variety of positions in his more than 40 years of membership in the Bedford Church of the Nazarene.  He was employed for more than 20 years at the Kay-Wood Products in Bedford and for  23 years at Lane Metal Products, retiring in 1991.  Bob loved to "take his gun for a walk in the woods", work with wood and could make just about anything with very few tools.  Another of his passions was getting old engines to "purr like kittens".  His constant companion was a Lab mix named Zorro.

A Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 19th, 2011 with Pastor Connie Dixon officiating.

Interment will be held at  Bedford County Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday from  5:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
