Robert A. Hinson

Robert A. Hinson, 82, of Younts Road, Bedford, died at 12:52 PM, Tuesday, July 8th, 2014 at his home with his family by his side after a brief battle with cancer.

Bob was born in Helixville, PA on Saturday, March 19, 1932, the son of the late Arol B. and Virginia M. (Griffith) Hinson.

On June 6, 1952, he married Nancy (Hershberger) Hinson.  In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Glenda wife of  Randy Inch, Palmyra, PA; Son- William husband of  Patti (Imler) Hinson, Dillsburg, PA; Son- Wayne Hinson, Latrobe, PA; Daughter- Sandra wife of  Ken Zimmerman, Harrisburg, PA; Daughter- Rhonda wife of  Todd Murray, Ellicott City, MD; Daughter- Connie wife of  Jason Biselx, Moorhead, MN; Sister- Jean Bollman, Everett; Brother- Joseph Hinson husband of  Roberta (Bradley) Hinson, Bedford. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Diehl.

Bob was a 1951 graduate of Bedford High School.  He was employed as a truck driver for Royal, Helms, Strickland, and Wilson companies. He retired from ABF trucking company in Carlisle, PA.  He was a member of Chestnut Ridge Rod & Gun Club. He was an avid fan of country music and enjoyed playing the harmonica. He also enjoyed hard work including his garden, helping others on their farms, and anything he could do outdoors.

A Memorial Service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 11th, 2014 with lay pastor Jim Miller of Bedford officiating. Interment will be held at  Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 2 PM-4 PM and 7 PM-9 PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home in Bedford.
