Mrs. Rita N. Hinson, 89, of Clearville, died at 6:22 PM, Saturday, October 26th, 2013 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Hinson was born in Ralphton on Friday, April 18, 1924,  the daughter of the late Albert and Irene (Schaab) Grasser.

On September 17, 1942, she married Merle A. Hinson.  In addition to her husband she is survived by Son- George "Barry" husband of  Margaret (Eilert) Hinson, Lucernemines; Daughter- R. Sharon wife of  James Feight, Bedford; Son- David M. husband of  Peggy (Winegardner) Hinson, Harrisburg; Daughter- Mary Lee wife of  Van Quinn, Ellicott City, MD; Daughter- Betty Sue wife of  Donald Yokitis, Nanty Glo; Brother- Gerald Grasser, Manns Choice; Brother- Miles Grasser, Mechanicsburg; Brother- Donald Grasser, Berlin; Sister- Donna Imgrund, Everett. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, and 36 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Rhinehart, a sister, Eileen O'Brien and a brother, Harold Grasser.

Mrs. Hinson was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Everett, where she was an Eucharist Minister for many years.  She was a homemaker who was employed at the Shopper's Guide in the advertising department.  Rita also was a writer for the paper and had a column in the Shopper's Guide entitled "Country Memories".  She was a 4-H Leader and helped children with special needs at New Hope  .

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Everett. at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 31st,  with Father Derek Fairman celebrant.

Committal Services will be held at the Schellsburg Cemetery Schellsburg, PA.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Raystown Road, Everett, where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 4:00 PM.
