Richard T. "Pastor Rich" Ednie, 52, of Diehl Road, Colerain Township, died Tuesday, April 12th, 2016 at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Pastor Rich was born in Erie on Sunday, November 17, 1963, the son of Virginia (Poraczky) Ednie of Erie and the late John Ednie.
On May 6, 2006, he married Brandee D. (Smith) Ednie. In addition to his wife and mother. he is survived by Son- Zane S. Ednie, at home; Daughter- Samantha G. Ednie, at home; Sister- Chrissy married to Jim Weatherholtz, Ohio; Brother- John Ednie married to Denise, Erie; Sister- Bonnie married to Jim Vorberger, Virginia; Brother- Danny Ednie married to Bill Harrison, Ohio.
Pastor Rich was a graduate of Fort LeBoeuf High School, home of the Bison and then went on to graduate from Central Bible College in Missouri. He was a member of the Friends Cove UCC Double Brick Church. Rich's passion in life was preaching. He had pastored at many churches in his lifetime and was currently the pastor at Trinity Reformed UCC in McConnellstown, Huntingdon County.
Pastor Rich enjoyed playing basketball with the "Breakfast Club" and he was an avid fan of the Steelers, Pirates and Nittany Lions. Rich was a very kind and generous person and a great husband, father, son, brother & friend. He will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Friends Cove UCC Double Brick Church, Bedford at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 16th, 2016 with Rev. Paul Claycomb officiating. The family requests that you wear your Steeler, Pirates or Penn State fan attire to the service.
Friends are invited to call on Saturday from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at the church in Friends Cove.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Pastor Rich to the Richard Ednie Donation Account at First National Bank for his wife and children.
