Mr. R. Dean Hinson, 89, of W. MacIntosh Road, New Paris, died Wednesday, October 12th, 2016 at Carrol's Rest Home, Bedford.
Mr. Hinson was born in Napier Township on Thursday, March 31, 1927, the son of the late Harry E. and Luella (Miller) Hinson.
On June 27, 1947, he married Patricia J. "Pat" (Kinzey) Hinson. She preceded him in death on July 24, 2006.
He is survived by Son- Terry D. husband of Sandy (Manges) Hinson, New Paris; Son- James T. husband of Teresa (Detwiler) Hinson, New Paris; Daughter- Deborah J. wife of Randy Miller, New Paris; Daughter- Barbara A. wife of Michael Williams, Schellsburg; Sister- Doris Jones, Roanoke, VA; Sister- Janet Jones, Thomasville; Granddaughter- Angie wife of Sam Thomas; Granddaughter- Amy wife of Victor Giovanelli; Grandson- Dustin husband of Megan (Fitzgerald) Miller; Grandson- Andy husband of Trishia (Bryner) Hinson; Granddaughter- Breanne wife of Eric Fetsko; Grandson- Darin husband of Erica (Dowlin) Miller; Granddaughter- Natalie wife of Dustin Rager; Grandson- Daniel Miller; Grandson- Michael Williams; Grandson- Tyrus husband of Beth (Igou) Hinson. , and 23 great grandchildren, Celina, Braden, Kailyn, Matthew, Taryn, Isabella, Abbigail, Christian, Mason, Caden, Joseph, Dayton, Collin, Colston, Catherine, Elliott, Geralyn, Harper, Ella, Jaxson, Shelby, Margaret & Hattie. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl "Moon" Hinson and a sister, Anna Mary Gundlach.
Dean was a founding member of the Faith Brethren Bible Church, where he was a Deacon. He was a self employed mechanic and owned and operated Hinson Auto Service in New Paris for over 40 years. Dean was also a bus driver for the Chestnut Ridge School District. He served in the US Army during W.W.II and was a member oft the Schellsburg VFW Post #4440. Dean was a longtime Little League Coach in New Paris and enjoyed farming, deer hunting and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan. He loved God and his family and was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Service will be held at Faith Brethren Bible Church, New Paris at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 15th, 2016 with Pastor James Espenshade officiating.
Interment will be held at Cuppett Cemetery, New Paris. Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
Friends are invited to call on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg and Saturday from 10:30 - 11:00 AM at Faith Brethren Bible Church.
