Mr. Raymond M. Hankinson, 82, of Juniata Street, New Baltimore, died at 4:31 AM, Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011 at Altoona Hospital.

Mr. Hankinson was born in Johnstown on Friday, November 23, 1928,  the son of the late Joseph and Marguerite (Schuller) Hankinson.

On October 11, 1958, he married Mary R. (Fleming) Hankinson.  In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Raymond C. husband of  Janda (Krebs) Hankinson, Centre Hall; Daughter- Ann M. wife of  Kevin Bowser, Virginia Beach, VA; Daughter- Carol J. wife of  Olek Muszynski, Arlington, VA; Sister- LaVerne Halza, Johnstown. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Matthew and Molly Bowser, Eva and Lee Muszynski and Andrew and Lydia Hankinson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hankinson.

Raymond was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Baltimore.  He was a graduate of Johnstown High School and served in the US Army during the Korean War.  Ray was employed as a steelworker for Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Johnstown for 36 years.  He was a lifetime member of the Schellsburg VFW Post #4440, a member of the Bedford American Legion Post #113 and a member of the Knights of Columbus.  .

A Funeral Mass will be held  at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore, at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 8th, 2011 with Father George Jakopac, celebrant.

Committal Services will be held at St. Johns Cemetery, New Baltimore.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.  A vigil for the deceased will be held at 2;00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.

Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
