Mr. Raymond F. Day, 73, of Buena Road, Schellsburg, died Sunday, April 21st, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital, Johnstown.

Mr. Day was born in Johnstown on Saturday. October 21, 1939,  the son of the late Raymond and Ellen (Gilmore) Day.

On December 8, 1959, he married Carole A. (Engelbach) Day.  In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Ruth wife of  LP Martin, Lincolnton, NC; Son- George husband of  Margaret Day, Charleston, SC; Daughter- Heather wife of  Dennis Hill, Charleston; Sister- Nancy wife of  James Kiss, Hampton, VA; Brother- Charles husband of Corby Day, Lutz, FL. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and one great grandchildren.

Ray graduate in 1957 from Johnstown High School.  He was a member of the United Church in Schellsburg and the Masonic Lodge F&AM at The Villages, FL.  He received two Masters Degrees, one in education and the other in Business from Southern Illinois University.  Ray served in the US Navy as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 in the Submarine branch, retiring after 22 years of service.  He then was employed as a project manager for Life Cycle and then taught vocational education at Berkeley County School in South Carolina. Ray was a performing clown and a teacher of clowning for eight years  in The Villages, FL.

A Memorial Service will be held at the United Church of Schellsburg at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 26th, 2013 with Rev. Ruth Shaver officiating.

Interment will be held at  Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the United Church of Schellsburg, 1646 Market Street, Schellsburg, PA 15559.
