Mr. Owen E. College, 69, of Graybill Road, Osterburg, died at 1:43 AM, Sunday, February 24th, 2013
Mr. College was born in Spring Hope on Monday, June 21, 1943, the son of the late Andrew J. and Julia (Smith) College.
On December 21, 1965, he married Donna L. (Hengst) College. In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Richard E. College, Osterburg; Daughter- Kimberly D. wife of Ross Monroe, Ridgeley, WV; Brother- Eldon College, Chambersburg; Sister- Mary Anna Beckwith, Archbold, OH; Brother- Warren A. College, Bedford; Brother- Donald E. College, Schellsburg; Sister- Hilda Sutton, Archbold, OH. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Mariah, Tanner, Katie and Kylee.
Owen served as a sharpshooter in the US Army during the Vietnam War, where he was a member of the Honor Guard. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Owen was employed at Lane Metal in Cessna for 38 years. He was a member of the Bedford American Legion Post #113, the Fort Bedford Antique Automobile Club and the AACA. Owen was a little league baseball coach and an all sports b*ooster for Chestnut Ridge High School.
A Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Graybill Road, Osterburg at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 27th, 2013 with Rev. Donna Wolfinger officiating.
Interment will be held at Osterburg Community Cemetery. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., Quaker Valley Road, Pleasantville and Wednesday 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the church.
