O. Gene Turner

Mr. O. Gene Turner, 79, of E. Vondersmith Ave., Bedford, died at 3:15 AM, Tuesday, August 6th, 2013 at Altoona Hospital.

Mr. Turner was born in New Buena Vista on Wednesday. September 20, 1933,  the son of the late Oran and Alice (Leabhart) Turner.

On December 19, 1959, he married Cleda M. (Winck).  In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Jeffrey T. husband of  Linda (Davis) Turner, Bedford; Son- Mark W. husband of  Michele (Cornell) Turner, Bedford; Son- Kevin O. husband of  Jamie (Eshelman), Bedford. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Marrisa, Jared, Justin and Brandon, and one great grandson, Darren.

Gene was a member of the Everett Church of God.  He was first employed at Don Rice Ford in Bedford, then he was the co-owner of the former Turner-Feight Motors in Bedford and he retired from Arnold's Auto Sales in Bedford, where he was employed as a salesman.  He,along with his parents operated the former Turner Newstand on Juliana St. in Bedford. Gene was a member of the Masonic Lodge #320 F&AM for 50 years and was a avid NASCAR fan

A funeral service will be held at Everett Church of God, Everett at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 9th, 2013 with Pastor William Kisner officiating.

Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford and Friday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the church.
