Nelda M. (Corle) Berkey

Mrs. Nelda M. Berkey, 90, of Railroad St., Beaverdale, died at 12:39 AM, Tuesday, June 10th, 2014 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.

Mrs. Berkey was born in Pavia on Tuesday, August 28, 1923,  the daughter of the late Ira and Bessie (Mowery) Corle.

On June 21, 1947, she married Homer C. Berkey.  He preceded her in death on November 2, 2009.

Nelda was a member of the Mt. Zion Reformed Methodist Church and a homemaker.  She was a talented quilter and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by  Son- Cloyd H. Berkey, Beaverdale; Son- Roger L. husband of  Rebecca (Smay) Berkey, Sidman; Sister- Cleo wife of  Wilbur Feathers, Pavia. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Tammi wife of Michael Yeckley & Heather wife of Sean Hart, and three great grandchildren, Gianna and Chloe Hart & Carter Berkey.  Nelda is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kristi Berkey, an infant sister Sara Jane Corle, and four sisters, Nora Guyer, Irene Ickes, Ruby Blackburn and Catherine Burket.

A Funeral Service will be held at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc, Pleasantville at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 13th, 2014 with Rev. Wilbert Boerstler officiating.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and Friday 1:30 - 2:00 PM at the funeral home in Pleasantville.

Interment will be held at Imler Valley Cemetery.
