Nancy J. (Hennessy) Green

Mrs. Nancy J. Green, 84, of Valley Road, Schellsburg, died Friday, February 17th, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Green was born in Youngstown, OH on Monday, May 9, 1932,  the daughter of the late Raymond J. and Mildred (Klupper) Hennessy.

On September 12, 1953, she married Richard E. Green. He preceded her in death on November 13, 2010.

She is survived by  Daughter- Sharon A. and son-in-law, Ed Simon, II of Blandburg; Daughter- Michele M. Green and son-in-law, Philip A. Jarusek of Westover, MD and Grandson- Clayton.  She was preceded in death by a brother, William Hennessy and two sisters, Sally Green and Patricia Meyers.

Nancy was a member of the New Paris United Methodist Church and a graduate of Georgetown University's Nurses Training.  She worked for 35 years as a registered nurse at St. Francis Hospital in New Jersey and at Hamiliton Square Hospital in New Jersey.  Nancy was also a private duty nurse at two different doctor's offices.  Nancy was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Schellsburg VFW Post # 4440 and along with her husband, was instrumental in starting the Chestnut Ridge School District Essay Contest.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend and she will be greatly missed .

A Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2017 with Pastor Joy Blackburn officiating.

Interment will be held at Schellsburg Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Geisel Funeral Home in Schellsburg
