Nadine M. (Claar) Pahl

Mrs. Nadine M. Pahl, 79, of Chalybeate Road, Bedford, died at 9:14 AM, Sunday, May 4th, 2014 at her home.

Mrs. Pahl was born in Bedford Township on Thursday, February 28, 1935,  the daughter of the late Raymond E. and Helen (Smith) Claar.

On December 31, 1957, in Winchester, VA, she married the love of her life, Henry "Ronnie" Pahl.  He preceded her in death on March 15, 2012.

She is survived by  Daughter- Rhonda G. wife of  Charles Twigg, Hyndman; Son- Kevin R. husband of  Lori (Miller) Pahl, Schellsburg; Sister- Harriet Sotirokos, Bedford; Sister- Sara Jean Lichvar, Denver, CO. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Chuckie, Joel, Ashley, Aaron, Ali & Evan, and three great grandchildren, Gavin, Aubrie & Mason.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald E. Claar and a sister Sharon Nee Bayley.

Nadine was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Bedford where she taught Sunday School.  She was a homemaker, tended bar at K & M in Bedford, worked at Howard Johnson's and she also was a baby-sitter.   Nadine was a member of the  Ladies Auxiliary at Bedford Moose, Bedford American Legion and the Bedford VFW.  She loved flowers, music, enjoyed and lived her life to the fullest and loved her family.  Nadine's kind smile and sweet personality will be greatly missed by everyone.

A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 8th, 2014 with Pastor Jeff Ling & Pastor Ruth Shaver officiating.

Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Bedford.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Nadine to either the CRHS Band, Chestnut Ridge High School, 2588 Quaker Valley Road, New Paris, PA 15554 or to the Hope for Hyndman Charter School, 213 Water Street, Hyndman, PA 15545.
