M. Louise (Gordon) Ickes

M. Louise Ickes, 68 of Schellsburg, went home to be with the Lord on July 13, 2017 at home, surrounded by family following a brief battle with cancer.

Mrs. Ickes was born on September 18, 1948 at home in Spring Hope.

Louise is survived by her husband, Barry R. "Bud" Ickes of 50 ½ Years; two sons, Ronald L. Ickes and wife Brenda of Alum bank and Darren E. Ickes and wife Tara of Bedford; four grandchildren, Tyler, Lauren, Nadia and Kaylin Ickes; a sister, Gail (Gordon) Morris and husband Dale Morris, two brother in laws, Eugene Ickes and wife Patricia and Robert D. "Dan" Ickes and wife Connie; two sisters in law, Vickie Breen and fiancé Jack Breen and Sherrie Sirko and fiancé Dave Shroyer and one surviving uncle, Ned McDonald.  Several loving nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her.  Louise was preceded in death by her father, Howard Gordon, her mother Lois (McDonald) Johnston, grandson, Connor Ickes and brother in law, Paul Breen.

Louise was affiliated with Christ Victory Church in New Buena Vista.  She worked at the Landmark Restaurant as a waitress for 27 years, at the Apple Bin Restaurant for five years and recently retired from the Sheetz Distribution Center in Claysburg after seven years of service.

A Funeral Service will be held at Christ Victory Church, New Buena Vista at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 17th, 2017  with Pastor Pat Murphy & Pastor Dan Oldham officiating.

Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Louise Ickes to Bedford County Fairgrounds Learning Center being built in her grandson Connor Ickes' name.  The family would like to thank Grane Hospice Care for their help and support during these last few days.
