Mrs. Mildred M. Diehl, 85, of Gephart Ave., Bedford, died at 2:01 PM, Wednesday, May 7th, 2014 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Diehl was born in Juniata Township on Monday, July 2, 1928, the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (Smith) Imgrund.
On November 16, 1950, she married Robert W. Diehl. In addition to her husband she is survived by Daughter- Annette D. wife of William Yohe, Lancaster; Daughter- Ellen R. wife of Matthew Boyer, New Paris; Son- William R. husband of Dena (Motto) Diehl, Fishertown; Brother- Ernest Imgrund, Manns Choice; Brother- Clarence Imgrund, Mifflinburg; Sister- Frances Tedley, Schellsburg; Sister- Dorothy Wolfhope, Schellsburg; Sister- Mary Grace Imgrund, Schellsburg. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Wesley Boyer husband of Trista (Price), Morgan wife of Lorne Daugherty, Samuel Boyer and Fiancee, Laura Hershberger, Emily Yohe & Laura Yohe, and one great grandchild, Blake and another great grandchild, due in August. She was preceded in death by her step mother, Mary (O'Brien) Imgrund and her sister Irene.
Mid was a homemaker, a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Schellsburg VFW Post #4440. She was an Avon Representative for many years, a Girl Scout Leader and enjoyed gardening, especially cultivating her roses.
A Funeral Rite will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 10th, 2014 with Father Donald Dusza celebrant.
Committal will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.
Friends are invited to call on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg, where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 3:00 PM.
