Melvin Leroy Wright

Mr. Melvin Leroy Wright, 78, of Bedford, died Saturday, May 13th, 2017 at Pennknoll Village.

Mr. Wright was born in Hopewell on August 14, 1938,  the son of the late Joshua Roy and Helen V.  (Wright) Hixon.

On July 17, 1965, he married Nancy Jane (Pensyl) Wright.

In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Jacqueline K. Stufft, companion of Brian Morris, New Paris; Son- Kevin R. Wright, Cypress, TX; Daughter- Deborah K. Wright, Bedford; Daughter- Diana K. wife of Lester Dunmeyer, Jr., Bedford; Daughter- Melissa K. Wright, at home; Brother- Kenneth A. husband of Judith (McKinley) Wright, Bedford; Sister- Joan L. wife of Kenny Porter, Bedford; Granddaughter- Shannon wife of Justin Dom, Windber; Granddaughter- Amy Dunmeyer, companion of Jason Muro, Altoona; Granddaughter- Megan Stufft, Windber; Grandson- Daniel Dunmeyer, companion of Brittany Prime, Bedford; Great Grandson- Robert; and Brother-in-Law- John Casteel, Bedford.  He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kimberly K., a sister, Nancy J. Casteel and a son-in-law, Earl Stufft.

Melvin was affiliated with the Bedford United Methodist Church.  He retired from the Bedford Springs Resort after 50 years of employment.  He enjoyed hunting, attending high school football games and he was an avid fan of the Western genre on television.  Most of all, Melvin loved spending time with his family.  He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and friend and he will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 17th, 2017 with Mr. Jim Miller officiating.

Interment will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Manns Choice.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Geisel Funeral Home in Bedford.
