Mrs. Maureen A. Speicher, 70, of Cider Road, Manns Choice, died at 1:04 PM, Sunday, March 16th, 2014 at Hospice House, Somerset.

Mrs. Speicher was born in Bedford on Tuesday, December 14, 1943, the daughter of the late Weldon and Mary (Burkett) Wright.

She was first married to Thomas Murphy.  He preceded her in death on November 14, 1973.  Then, on September 14, 1991, she married Oscar Speicher, Jr.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by Daughter- Angie Murphy, Winston Salem, NC; Son- Douglas husband of  Becky (Willey) Murphy, New Paris; Daughter- Kelly (Murphy) wife of  Doug Marcum, Chesapeake, OH; Step Son- Joseph husband of  Elizabeth (Moser) Speicher, Bedford;  Step Son- Thomas Speicher, Manns Choice; Step Son- Chester Speicher, Buffalo Mills; Step Son- Anthony husband of  Michelle (Price) Speicher, Berlin; Sister- Dorothy Winfield, Altoona; Sister- Monica Wright, Manassas, VA; Brother- Joseph Wright, Tucson, AZ; and Daughter-in-Law- Patricia Murphy, Clarksville TN. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Michael Murphy, Brandon Murphy, Maleah Murphy, Alex Marcum and Jennifer Marcum, nine step grandchildren, Kim, Jimmy, Jeanette, Jeremy, Jenna, Levi, Aleesha, Carrie and Edward,  three step great grandchildren, Devin, Owen and Damien. In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, James and Paul Murphy, a stepdaughter, Cindy Speicher and an infant brother, Everett.

Maureen was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Baltimore.  She had retired from the CVS Distribution Center in Somerset.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 20th, 2014 with Father Richard Tomkosky celebrant.

Interment will be held at St. Johns Cemetery, New Baltimore.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.
