Mrs. Mary T. "Marie" Hankinson, 89, of Juniata St., New Baltimore, died Friday, March 24th, 2017 at Meadowview Nursing Center, Berlin.
Mrs. Hankinson was born in Allegheny Township on August 30, 1927, the daughter of the late Dennis and Mary (Lilly) Suhrie.
On May 20,1950, she married George M. Hankinson. He preceded her in death on April 6, 1992.
She is survived by Daughter- Dianne wife of Glenn Murphy, Oak Hill,WV; Son- Ron husband of Patricia (Fochtman) Hankinson, New Baltimore; Son- Thomas husband of Teresa (Diamond) Hankinson, Eldersburg, MD; Son- Larry husband of Anita (Walker) Hankinson, New Baltimore; Daughter- Janeen wife of Robert Cochran, Berlin; Son- Sean husband of Lora (Cafeo) Hankinson, Palatine, IL; Sister- Dorothy Smith, Berlin. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy, a grandson, Michael Murphy, a sister, Rita Werner and five brothers, Francis, Cyril, Lawrence, Eugene & Robert.
Marie was an active member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Baltimore. Marie attended the Suhrie School and excelled, skipping a grade and then went on to graduate BBHS in 1944. Before her marriage, Marie was a happy waitress at Howard Johnson's in New Baltimore. After she married, she went on to work at the Bedford Springs and was a cook's assistant at St. John's. Marie also served as the New Baltimore auditor and a tax collector. She was a member of the Exxon Annuitant Club, New Baltimore Sportsman Club and the Senior Center in Central City. Along with her husband Geroge, she enjoyed traveling. Marie was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and she will be greatly missed

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 28th, 2017 with Father Richard Tomkosky officiating.
Committal Services will be held at St. Johns Cemetery, New Baltimore.
Friends are invited to call on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.
