Mary Louise (Getz) Diehl
June 24, 1928 — October 22, 2015
Mrs. Diehl was born in Somerset County on Sunday, June 24, 1928, the daughter of the late John Bernard and E. Viola (Kennell) Getz.
On May 7, 1949, she married Blaine E. Diehl in Cumberland, MD. Her passing ends a union of over 66 years.
In addition to her husband she is survived by Daughter- Linda wife of George Sotirokos, Bedford & Fort Myers, FL; Daughter- Vickie wife of Michael Blubaugh, Bedford; Daughter- Lisa widow of Timothy Helms, New Ringgold; Brother- John husband of Joann Getz, Hyndman; Sister- Joan wife of Homer Murray, Corriganville, MD. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Earnie Sotirokos, Eddie Sotirokos, Luke Morgart, Kylee Welsh, Brian Blubaugh, Bradley Blubaugh, Jeremy Helms, Sarah Clouser, Rachel Schwartz & Emily Helms, ten great grandchildren, Olivia, Jason, Andrew, Liza, Nate, Paige, Roseanna, Leah, Abigail & Isabella and one great great granddaughter, Olivia. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rebecca Helms and two brothers, Robert Getz & Jay Getz.
Mary Louise was a member of the Christ Victory Church in New Buena Vista, where she participated in the Women's Fellowship Group and Bible Study. Mary Louise was previously employed at Lions Manufacturing in Everett. She enjoyed sewing, bowling and along with her husband was a member of the Bedford Antique Car Club. Mary Louise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and she will be remembered for the faith she had in her Lord and the love she showed everyday for her family. She will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Service will be held at Christ Victory Church, New Buena Vista at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 25th, 2015 with Pastor Pat Murphy officiating.
Interment will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 26, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
Friends are invited to call on Saturday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.
