Maryann Monsour Pascoe, 101, passed away on January 24th, 2024, in Thousand Palms, CA. She was born on March 10, 1922 in north eastern Pennsylvania in the town of Simpson to the late John and Anna (Stasick) Hanitchak. She was preceded in death by brothers Bernard, Leonard and John, as well as her first husband Alex Monsour (June 24, 1977) and her second husband Frank Pascoe (February 23, 1989).
She is survived by her three children, Alexandra "Zandy" Albright of Thousand Palms, CA, John "Jack" and wife Kathy Monsour of Bedford, PA and Annette Chickering of Thousand Palms, CA; seven grandchildren, Laura Vagran, Carrie Vagran, Eliza Monsour, Jackson Monsour and wife Christy, Burton Monsour, Kaitlyn Chickering, Hannah Chickering and husband Justin Barner; nine great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Maryann was raised in Binghamton, New York. It was here that she met her first husband. During World War ll, while her husband Alex served in both the European and Pacific Theaters, she worked for IBM to support the war effort while living with her parents in Binghamton. After the war she became a homemaker raising children in the south hills of Pittsburgh as well as working with her husband in their clothing stores - Lebanon Casuals. They built a "summer" home at Indian Lake which served for family gatherings and later as a residence for her aging parents. In the early eighties she bought and remodeled a home in Bedford for her parents.
In 1979 she married Frank Pascoe and moved to Bedford from Pittsburgh in order to care for her father at home and to be close to her son Jack and his family. In 2010 Maryann moved to Thousand Palms, CA to be near her daughters. Both Annette and Zandy cared for her during the last number of years.
Maryann was a devoted daughter, loving mother and grandmother and instilled an appreciation of music and education into the lives of her children and grandchildren. She had a love of photography, flowers and home improvement. Her faith was an important part of her life.
