Mrs. Mary E. Habinyak, 89, of Habby Road, Schellsburg, passed away at 7:30 AM, Wednesday, March 21st, 2012 at her home.
Mrs. Habinyak was born in Napier Township on Sunday, June 4, 1922, the daughter of the late John and Marguerite (Middleton) Delancy.
On August 17, 1941 she married Nikolas Habinyak. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1978.
She is survived by Son- Robert husband of Paula Jean (Cole) Habinyak, Martinsburg; Daughter- Jean, New Paris; Daughter- JoAnn wife of Charles Shoopman, Indianapolis, IN; Son- John Habinyak, Schellsburg; Daughter- Donna wife of Dale Graham, Bedford; Daughter- Linda Paul, Altoona; Son- Larry husband of Pam (Welsh) Habinyak, Schellsburg; Son- Nicky Habinyak, Schellsburg; Son- Gary Habinyak; Grandson- Robert husband of Mechelle (Waters) Habinyak, IL; Granddaughter- Bethann (Graham) wife of Kris Romesburg, Cumberland, MD; Grandson- Chad husband of Jill (Miller) Graham, Schellsburg; Grandson- Ryan Habinyak, Bedford; Granddaughter- Angie (Habinyak) wife of Demi Davis, Harrisburg; Granddaughter- Britnee Habinyak, Altoona; Step-Grandson- Mike husband of Tracee Cole, MI; Step-Granddaughter- Christine wife of Peter Zengel, Marionville; Step-Grandson- Steve husband of Jen (Snavely) Cole, San Diego, CA and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the following siblings; Irma Delancy, Dorothy Delancy, Hattie Oyler, Ruth Hann, Lillian Spiker, Alma Gonyea and Charles Delancy.
Mary was a homemaker and a social member of the Schellsburg VFW Post # 4440. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy. She was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. Mary enjoyed traveling and was an excellent cook. Her family would like to give a special thanks to hospice and Home Nursing for they kindness that they showed and care that they gave to Mary. .
A Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 24th, 2012 with Pastor Richard Shingler officiating.
Interment will be held at Schellsburg Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
