Mary M. (Deaner) Carpenter

Mrs. Mary M. Carpenter, 93, of South Market St., Martinsburg, died Saturday, September 10th, 2016 at Homewood Retirement Center.

Mrs. Carpenter was born in Schellsburg on Wednesday, November 8, 1922,  the daughter of the late George and Emma (Weyant) Deaner.

On January 10, 1945, she married Dale E. Carpenter.  He preceded her in death on July 26, 2002.

Mary is survived by her many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Larry Dale Carpenter and by a brother, Blair Deaner

Mary was a member of the United Church of Schellsburg.  She was employed as a waitress at the former Shawnee Inn in Schellsburg and at the Broadway Department Store in Arizona.  Mary was a member of the Women of the Moose in Phoenix, AZ.  She was a lovely woman and a wonderful aunt.  She will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Service will be held at Homewood at Martinsburg at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 15th, 2016 with Pastor Jerry McCuller officiating.

Interment will be held at Schellsburg Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Homewood in Martinsburg.
