Marie Kay Manges, 64, of Manns Choice, PA, was at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. when her Lord carried her home on November 19, 2016.
Born December 22, 1951, Marie was the daughter of her late parents, Clara (Marsden) and George Shaffer.
Marie was preceded in death by two brothers, Warrant Officer George Shaffer, and Bruce Shaffer.
She is survived by a daughter, Heather L. Trail, a son, James H. Trail, both of Bedford, Pa. and a step-daughter, Laurie Manges, of New Paris, Pa. She is also survived by one brother in California, Robert Shaffer and his wife Rose, and four grandchildren, and the love of her life, her husband, Ed.
Marie was born in Auburn, N.Y. where she graduated from High School and attended the Community college in the area.
She moved to Bedford, Pa in the early 1970’s, met and fell in love with Ed Manges, whom she married on January 24, 1989.
Having a love for the Lord, Jesus Christ, Marie always enjoyed volunteering at church and being involved in any activities. She was currently affiliated with Faith Heart Family Fellowship in Everett, Pa.
She also was a volunteer for Bedford, Pa. Special Olympics.
An enthusiastic animal lover Marie filled that passion by working at Olde Bedford Veterinarian Clinic for over 20 years and pampering their own beloved pets.
She and Ed also enjoyed going to the Chrysler Car Show in Carlisle, Pa.
All services will be held at Christ Victory Church, 470 Buena Road, Manns Choice, Pa. 15550
Visitation: 2-4pm and 6-8pm; Friday, November 25, 2016 and 10am Saturday, November 26, 2016
A Celebration of Life Service: 11am Saturday, November 26, 2016 with internment immediately following.
