Mrs. Madeline D. Garman, 88, of West Garman Road, Osterburg, died at 12:59 AM, Sunday, June 29th, 2014 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Garman was born in Altoona on Monday, March 8, 1926, the daughter of the late Agnes (Nido) Gable and stepfather, Kenneth Gable.
On June 12, 1942, she married George Garman. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1979.
She is survived by Son- George husband of Josephine (Foor) Garman, New Enterprise; Daughter- Nancy wife of Lester McClucas, York; Son- James husband of Pat (Weyant) Garman, Colmbiana, OH; Son- Joseph Garman, Osterburg; Son- John Garman, Osterburg; Brother- John Gable, Woodbury; Brother- Robert Gable, Bedford; Brother- Robert Gable, Woodbury; Sister- Nancy Gable, Imler; Sister- Irene Fisher, Altoona. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Marie Hall and two brothers, Kenneth & James Gable.
Madeline was a member of the Weyant United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and worked on the family dairy farm with her husband. Madeline enjoyed growing flowers and cooking, especially for her family.
A Funeral Service will be held at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc, Pleasantville, at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014 with Pastor James Neatrour officiating.
Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Pleasantville.
