Luella M. (Furman) Karns

Mrs. Luella M. Karns, 87, of Josephine Ave. Bedford, died at 8:10 PM, Monday, June 23rd, 2014 at her home.

Mrs. Karns was born in Bayport, MI on Friday, December 3, 1926,  the daughter of the late Louis and Rosella M. (Frazier) Furman.

On February 27, 1954, she married Roy E. Karns.  He preceded her in death on December 4, 1982.

She is survived by  Daughter- Catherine Foster, Schellsburg; Daughter- Janet Clapper, Schellsburg; Son- Roy Karns, Jr. husband of  Debra (Eicher), Martinsburg; Son- Lawrence Karns, Bedford; Son- Timothy husband of  Sharon (Ritchey) Karns, Bedford; Daughter- Annamarie Karns, Bedford; Son- Michael Karns, Bedford; Step Son- Charles Karns husband of Sally, Osterburg; Step Son- Leroy Karns husband of Jean, Roaring Springs; Sister- Ethel McDonald, Centerville; Daughter-in-Law- Debbie (Ferguson) Karns, Bedford. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren,  5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Edward, two grandchildren, five brothers and three sisters.

Luella was a homemaker and was formerly employed as a housekeeper at the Holiday Inn in Bedford.

A funeral service will be held  at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 26th, 2014  with Pastor Wayne Magruder & Pastor John Bennett officiating.

Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Thursday from 10:30 - 11:00 AM at the funeral home in Bedford.
