Mrs. Louise G. Knauer, 87, of Bedford, formerly of Tire Hill, died Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home.

Mrs. Knauer was born in Conemaugh Township, Somerset County on Wednesday, February 8, 1928,  the daughter of the late Isaac and Edith (Amistadi) Lorenzi.

On July 2, 1951, she married Harry D. Knauer.  He preceded her in death on July 8, 1995.

She is survived by  Daughter- Edith M. wife of  Charles "Chuck" Cuppett, Bedford; Son- Donald R. Knauer - Bedford; Aunt- Ann Amistadi, Tire Hill.  and sisters-in-law, Joann Vasas of Twin Rocks, Barbara Knauer of New York & Janet Armstrong of New Jersey and by numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.  She was preceded in death by an infant son and a brother, Richard.

Louise was a homemaker and a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford.  She volunteered for the American Red Cross and was a Girl Scout Troop Leader.  Louise was a member of RSVP and enjoyed camping and fishing, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles.  She was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Bedford at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 26th, 2015  with Father Donald Dusza celebrant.

Committal will be held at Pike Brethren Cemetery, Mundys Corner.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 3:00 - 7:00 PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Knauer to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Bedford County Humane Society, 1108 Lutzville Road, Everett, PA 15537.
