Mrs. Lori L. Claar, 53, of Heritage Road, Osterburg, died at 12:31 AM, Saturday, October 4th, 2014 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.

Mrs. Claar was born in Lovely on Tuesday, April 18, 1961,  she was the daughter of Eva (Allison) Hillegass-Strenski, Schellsburg and the late Forrest Hillegass.

On July 27, 1985, she married David G. Claar.  He preceded her in death on May 9, 2005.

Along with her mother, she is survived by her step father, James Strenski of Schellsburg and Son- Matthew D. Claar and girlfriend, Misty Cessna, Osterburg; Sister- Vee Claar companion of Dennis Boone, Davidsville.

Lori was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church, where she sang in the choir, was a member of the Ladies Group and a past Church Board Member.  She was a 1979 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School and a 1983 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, where she received a Bachelor of Education Degree.

Mrs. Claar was employed as a teacher for 31 years at the Conemaugh Valley High School in the math department.  As an educator, she served as the Junior Class Advisor, the Scholastic Quiz Coach and was the Treasurer for the Teachers Union.

A Funeral Service will be held at Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church, New Paris at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, October 8th,  2014 with Pastor Dan Oldham officiating.

Interment will be held at Schellsburg Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church.
