Lloyd S. Casteel

Mr. Lloyd S. Casteel, 88, of Chalybeate Road, Bedford, died at 10:55 AM, Tuesday, November 25th, 2014 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Casteel was born in Bedford on Tuesday, February 16, 1926,  the son of the late Roy and Mary A. (Stayer) Casteel.

On June 9, 1962, he married Laverne (Miller) Casteel.  In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Susan Casteel, Bedford; Son- David L. Casteel, Bedford; Sister- Carol widow of  Dean Snyder, Woodbury; Brother- Joseph R. Casteel, Bedford and a number of nieces and nephews.

Lloyd was a lifetime member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bedford where he served as the secretary of the Church Council, the Sunday School Superintendent and was a Youth Leader.  He was a 1944 graduate of Bedford High School.

Lloyd was a lifelong dairy farmer.  He enjoyed playing baseball and bowling and loved spending time with his family.  Lloyd was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.  He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend who will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at St. James Lutheran Church, Bedford at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 29th,  2014 with Pastor Jenny Barnes and Rev. Paul Claycomb officiating.

Interment will be held at St James Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford and Saturday from 10:30 - 11:00 AM at the church.
