L. June (Holler) Cook

Mrs. L. June  Cook, 96, of E. Pitt St., Bedford, formerly of Manns Choice, died Monday, April 9th, 2018 at Donahoe Manor.

Mrs. Cook was born in Juniata Township on August 16, 1921,  the daughter of the late J. Guy Holler, Sr. and Eva (Burkett) Holler.

On December 24, 1941, she married Floyd C. "Barney" Cook.  He preceded her in death on March 22, 1979.

She is survived by Daughter- Carolyn Joyce wife of Donnie Joe Hiens, White Plains, MD; Daughter- Paula Kay wife of Carl F. Sheirer, Bedford; Brother- J. Guy Holler, Jr., Bedford. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Lisa Maria Smith, Tambra Jo Beauvais & Donald Clifford Hiens, and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a two sisters, Margaret Faupel and Ona Casteel-Stouffer.

June was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Madley.  She was previously employed at Lion Manufacturing in Everett and then worked as a jury commissioner for Bedford County until her retirement.  June was a member of the Schellsburg VFW Post #4440 Ladies Auxiliary and the Bedford American Legion Post #113 Ladies Auxiliary.  She was a lovely woman and a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend and she will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, Madley at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 13th, 2018 with Pastor Ryan Viands officiating.

Interment will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Manns Choice.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home in Schellsburg.
