L. Jean (Sill) Claycomb

Mrs. L. Jean  Claycomb,  86, of Ash Lawn Road, Bedford, died at 6:15 PM, Friday, October 31st, 2014 at Donahoe Manor.

Mrs. Claycomb was born in Bedford on Sunday, March 25, 1928,  the daughter of the late George and Edna (Burket) Sill.

On March 2, 1952, she married L. Dent Claycomb.  He preceded her in death on December 31, 2003.

Jean is survived by the following nieces and nephew: Joanne Yarnell, Dotty Jones, Tina Mehle, Debra Route, Michael Miller & Kim Duncan.  She is also survived by friends and caregivers; Eva Hann, Connie Willison & Donna Hartsock.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Miller and Dorothy Cessna

Jean was a member of the St. John's Reformed Church in Bedford and a 1946 graduate of Bedford High School.  She was formerly the co-owner and operator of the New Penn West Hotel. Jean was an avid reader and loved to shop.

A graveside service will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 4, 2014  with Pastor Dana Umbel officiating.
